Error in Image Manager 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 1
I have installed the Image Manager plugin but get the following error when trying to open it in the editor:

Could not create watermark folder

Do you know what there is wrong?

Best regards

Hi madseman

Thank you for your post.

This is almost certainly a file permission issue. The image manager is attempting to create the watermark folder for the plugin however, it is/was not given permission to do so hence your error: "Could not create watermark folder".

The recommended values for Joomla is , 755 and 0644 for folders and files respectively with PHPsuExec, php_suexec or suPHP installed. For more information on Joomla’s system requirement please see the official link below:

* docs.joomla.org/Security_and_Performance...ctory_permissions.3F
* docs.joomla.org/Security_Checklist_2_-_H...erver_configurations

This is not to say that the editor will not work if you are using a different file permission however, you may have to play around with your servers file permissions to get the editor and the plugins to function correctly. This could also be the cause of your javascript issue becasue the editor must be given permission, for it to work correctly.

Please see: www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content...ermissions-in-joomla for help.

Take care,

Paul

Hi to all,

have problems with the image manager too.

I write the path to the images folder in the configuration of the plugin as "images\stories\news" and than save it.
When i have a second look on these items i saw "images\storiesews".

Why ist my entry not saved correctly?
Is it possible teh field to save the entry is too small ??

Pls help.

Thanks in advance
Manfred

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for explaining the permissions

I think this is weird, because when I look in the stories folder, it have already created watermark folder, and put some images files in it on the server.
I can't see there should be something wrong with the permissions.

I have my configuration.php file in a folder outside my Joomla! folder, do that affect the CKeditor and editor manager?
I ask because in some other components, where there is a file that point to the configuration.php, I have had to edit the point, in these files, to get it to work.
Could that be the issue here too?

Hi Mads: The only reason for the watermark error is because of permissions. It might be there folder's permissions have changed since the folder was created. May I ask what the permissions are for the watermark folder?

Hi empfl: Folders should be separated by a forward slash (/). By adding a backslash before the character 'n', PHP translates it to a newline character. Hence why it is disappearing.

Kindest Regards,

Hi madseman,

Can I ask the following?

What is the 'Location of the Images?' parameters set to for the editor beccause
by default it is set to the 'images' folder not the sub-folder 'images/stories'?

Have you changed it to 'images/stories'?

Could you also tell us what the chmod settings is for the following additional information?

1. Joomla index.php file
2. plugins folder
3. editors folder
4. jckfolder

Regards

The images folder in editor Plugin is set to: images/bloggen
So I have change it from images to images/bloggen before I installed Image Manager.

I have now set it back to images and click save.
And then it works. Now I have set it to images/bloggen again and it still works!

Why it first work when changing back and forward I do not know, but the case is that the images works now

But the other issue that I wrote on in Forum tread is still there?

Thanks
