1 & 2 ) I don't understand how the file browser is supposed to work.
The button is called "image" right? Is it supposed to let a user
upload images from his/her personnel computer? Is the file browser
meant for multiple file types or just images?
I'm assuming I am supposed to hit the "browse server" button? Because
when I hit it, a new window opens just says: "Access is denied because
user session has expired.".
I have cleared cache before attempting this. I tried this with my
account and the demo account, and am getting the same results either
way. I'm getting the same results in firefox as well as IE.
3. This is the URL that the plugin generates when I paste a youtube link in it. I've tried both a regular video and a featured video.
4. Blank lines: To reproduce this problem, log in to the front-end and edit the
club called "Electronic Flyers of Virginia." Please be careful editing
this club as it has real members who use the website regularly.
a. edit the club called electronic flyers of virginia.
b. create single spaces between all paragraphs in the club description.
c. save the club.
Now do either of the following to confirm the extra spaces have appeared:
a. click the club description tab(on the club page). You will see
extra spaces(more than your single spaces).
b. Go in to edit the club again and you will notice the extra spaces
have appeared in the editor(more than the single spaces you chose
before saving).

1. The JCK explorer does allow multiple image uploads. As for your other question regarding file type, the file browser allows whatever file type is told to look for(i.e. if it is launched from the image dialog then only images, if from the flash dialog then only swf files etc..)
Also try using the user you created for us and see if you get the issue.
2. In regard to the access denied I can only think it is a permission issue on the user you have chosen. As you can see in the attached file with the user you have given us to test your site we are able to launch the file browser without any issues in both IE and Firefox.
Please note the user in your case must have at least the 'create' or 'edit' permission for the article Manager. So a user must be at least in the default Author user group or greater. Users in the registered group only do not have does rights by default.
3. A typical youtube URL looks something like this format www.youtube.com/watch?v=[videoid]&blahblahblah. We only care about the video id so can you show us the actual URL of the link you used
4. Is this only occurring with IE9? We notice there was an issue with IE9 in standard mode and this is related to dev.ckeditor.com/ticket/7433 and has been fixed in our next release of the editor version 5. This should not be an issue with IE8/7 or even when IE9 is in IE8 document mode and of course this is not an issue in Firefox.

Okay, your right, as soon as I log in as administrator I don't get the permission denied anymore. Are there any side effects I don't know about of making all of my registered users authors? Is there any way of "mass editing" all registered users and promoting them to authors? Is there a way to make joomla automatically make you an author when signing up for the website?
1.)
Here is the YouTube video I'm trying to embed. This is a video one of the group members made. It simply disappears after saving.
Here is the youtube link... having trouble showing it to you because your forum wants to embed it(i tried quotes, code, link etc).
Here's an image of it:
2.) The spaces still appear after I simply clicked edit and then save 3 times in a row. Every time I edit and save more spaces appear(see image below).
Other than the issues, I'm very impressed with the file browser, it works great now . I'm very impressed with this editor. If I can iron out these last two issues, it looks like this is going to work . The random spaces which appear are pretty bad because you spend a lot of time editing the page, and then save it and there's extra spacing. Also, my users want the ability to embed or upload a video to their club page(for example that youtube video above which shows the club members flying).
p.s. i was also having issues using IE8 at work(file browser), but it could have been the network at my work affecting it.

The problem arises due to JomSocial not utilising Joomla’s core ALC system.
Our editor is tied into this for security reason and as a result will fall backs to Joomla default users permission of the article manager. You could bring this point up with JomSoical however, what we will do is to add an exception in the next release of the editor for you. We hope to have this with you shortly.
1.) OK I’ve looked into this. It would seem that the JomSocial component does not presently support Joomla’s Content Plug-ins, which is required for the All Videos to work! This is way the “{youtube}dYsYijD9dsc{/youtube}” tags are not being transformed. You should contact JomSocial to ask about the execution of Content Plugins in their component.
Workaround
Remove the AllVideos JCK plugin and install the JCK ‘Insert HTML’ plugin which will allow you to use the YouTube embed code to play the video.
Test
You can perform a quick test by switching backwards and forwards between the source code and wysiwyg mode. If the <br> tags are being added before saving the article, then it points towards the editor.
If it is being added after being saved to the database then something else doing it, it could be joomla!’s Article Filtering or something within JomSoical.
The reason why it can’t be the editor in this instance is that it had nothing to do with 'saving' or with how the 'data is saved' or 'filtered'. However, if the HTML is being filter or modified when save, then the editor will try to fix and valid html the broken HTML which could result in the <br> tags.

When switching between source code and editor the code is not affected. Here is the code before hitting save:

Dear joelzyla,
Thank you for assisting us with the test
As we have been able to diagnose that the <br> are not being inserted into your HTML code, by the editor before saving. It would suggest that the problem is happening during the saving process which is causing the <br> tags to appear in your HTML.
What to do:
The next step is to diagnose where or not this happened outside of JomSoical. To do these please perform the same test in a default Joomla article.
b)If this problem only occurs in JomSoical then it would be advisable to bring this to the attentions of JomSoical and seek their support to resolve the problem which maybe affecting their software. If JomSoical need our assistance we would be more than happy to help.

Paul, It appears that the issue does not occur in Joomla articles, only in Jomsocial club descriptions.
I will open a ticket with Jomsocial and point them to this thread... Hopefully they will help us get this working so that Jomsocial and JCK editor will be compatible.
