Hello,
Really super easy resolution for us. (After uninstalling and reinstalling the latest stable release you have to go back into User Manager and reassign "Joomla CKeditor" to each user. When we uninstalled it reset every user with no editor defined.)
This was driving me crazy. I'm only using the plugin. No manager. Cleaned my Joomla server cache and browser cache. Thought that would be all it would take. We were on a really old version the ckeditor, 2.4 or 6x something. So I read the directions and known issues before upgrading, per normal. Uninstalled the old plugin and made sure the hosting account was using the required versions of mysql and php + file permissions. They are. Made sure Article global parameters for blacklisting were setup correct.
We're using Joomla 1.5.23. Rochen Host as are hosting providers. Clicking or an Article in the backend or trying to edit an article on the front end resulted in no errors but a Blank White browser window.
I googled and read and read and reread tons of posts with all kinds of crazy stupid suggestions. Renaming .htaccess files back to htaccess.txt for both ckeditor and site. And then some knuckle head resolving his issue by making his permissions to 777. Please don't listen to this kind of BS. If you're frustrated now, and you blindly follow advice like this, just wait till your site is hacked to pieces then see how you feel.
ReAssigning "Joomla CKEditor" to each user in Joomla's User Manager resolved the issue.
Hope this helps someone.
