Editor Not Loading in Front End 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I am so very disappointed. I love this editor...but it has stopped loading in the front end of my site.

I have tried everything in every thread on this forum and nothing works. The editor loads in the back end. It loads in "new articles" in the front end, but will not load to edit existing articles created with a prior editor (I was using JCE Editor previously).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Closed browser, cleared cache, etc. Nothing works.

I am using version 3.3.1 with Joomla 1.5.18 (to be upgraded to 1.5.20 tonight). PHP 5. All requirements seem to be met.

I sure would appreciate it if someone knows how to fix this. This editor was working fine in my site last week. It worked on Friday. Is not working on Monday. No changes to site over the weekend (other than new articles)...AFTER I taught all my users how to use it.

When I attempt to edit and existing article I get nothing. No editor. No article. Just a blank white area. Screen shot attached.

I see that this editor has been removed from the Joomla Extensions Directory. Is this editor dead?

Hi afurzmom,

Thank you for your email.

The project is very much alive!

There were a few unjustified issues which we have had to work thought the JED. During this procedure our listing was unpublished temporally which was undue! We have kindly asked the JED to notify us rather than unpublishing our listing in the future. This has resulted in us having to change or listing on the Joomla extension directory to ‘JCK Editor’ because on the new enforce rules to all - docs.joomla.org/Extensions_name

Editor Not Loading in Front End issue:

(1.) If you are a Firefox user, would you be so kind to install Firebug (which is a 3rd party extensions for Firefox - addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843/ ).

Once installed would you open up Firebug > select the ‘Console’ Tab and copy and paste the ‘Ajax query’ when you received the error. This will help us see the Ajax response from the server and hopefully help us to diagnose the problem.

(2.) Is your Joomla User Account configured to use our editor? - please see: www.joomlackeditor.com/downloads/installation-guild?start=5

Thanks,

Paul

If you use JCK Editor, please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Here is the error:

uncaught exception: [CKEDITOR.resourceManager.load] Resource name "filebrowser" was not found at "....".

Yes...the site is configured to use your editor. At least it was. I have had to turn it off, since it's no longer working. However, remember it was working last week.

Hi afurzmom,

May I ask if you have changed the configuration file or toolbar file for the editor?

Cheers,

Mark

The only thing I have done is add a template (which was working fine).

I honestly would not know how to do what you are asking about! LOL

Would you please uninstall and reinstall the editor and let me know if that resolves it.

Cheers

I uninstalled and reinstalled JoomlaCK yesterday. This did not solve the problem. As I said, I have tried every suggestion I found on this forum that relates to this issue.

BTW...really I appreciate your help in getting this running. I'm the webmaster for a nonprofit dog rescue (www.havaneserescue.com).

I dearly wish we had the $$ to pay for your support subscription...but with the economy like it is...we are struggling.

Still trying to get this working again and I realized all of the error message didn't get included in my previous post:
uncaught exception: [CKEDITOR.resourceManager.load] Resource name "filebrowser" was not found at "www.havaneserescue.com/plugins/editors/j....js?t=A5AB4B6".

Don't know if this helps or not. This is from Firebug.

One more point. I talked to my IT guy this morning and he said he does not think the editor ever loaded in the front end on existing articles. It only loaded on new articles.

Forgive my confusion.

Any news on a fix for this problem? I would really like to use this editor!

FYI...I uninstalled Joomla CK editor again. Upgraded Joomla to 1.5.20. Reinstalled JCK. Same problem. The editor loads perfectly for NEW articles. Will not load to edit existing articles. :o(

Hi,

The same is happening here...

uncaught exception: [CKEDITOR.resourceManager.load] Resource name "stylesoverride" was not found at "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/~hostname/plugins/editors/jckeditor/plugins/stylesoverride/plugin.js?t=A1PD".

Line 0

It was working with version 3.2, but loading the image browser would fail to see directories... I ugraded to 3.3.1 and it started to fail loading existing or new articles.

I don't know what to do...

I wouldn't like to go back to JCE...

Please help.
