New to CK and trying to resolve a couple of things 1 Year, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I recently converted a site from using openWYSIWYG to CKEditor and was impressed with the usability of the editor, so I want to replace the editor for a Joomla site that I maintain to use the same editor.

The installation of JoomleCK Editor 3.3.1 went through without a hitch, but when I try to edit an article, all the text is a vey 'washed out' colour which can hardly be read. Is there a setting to make the text black by default?

Also, when using Firefox, I get a waiting for svc.spellchecker message which can take an age to resolve. This does not seem to happen in IE8 and as the site I'm maintaining has a fair amount of foreign words and slang terms, a spellchecker is of limited benefit. Is there a way to stop this behaviour?

Hi skygod,

Thank you for your enquiry.

1. The styles of the text will be control by either your front-end or back-end admin template. You should be able to define the p class for the text in your css style-sheet.
2. If you wish to configuring or remove plugin front the toolbar please see: www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content...-the-editor-toolbars for help.

Or alternative you can disable the SCAYT ( Spell Check As You Type) function by expanding the function of the editor with our Plug-in manager: please see: www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content...lation-guide?start=4

Take care,

P

If you use JoomlaCK Editor, please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Thanks.

1. I've now resolved the 'washed out' look and will investigate other customisations using the .php file as I have now been asked to implement restrictions as font use, header type and general colour restrictions.

2. Unfortunately the Plug-In manager is commercial software and therefore outside the scope of the remit for the site I am working on. Is there no simple way to disable the functionality so that the editor is responsive in Firefox 3.6.8, as this would probably be a 'show-stopper'.

Yes - please see: www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content...-the-editor-toolbars for help. All you need to do is to remove the var $SpellChecker; or var $Scayt; for the toolbar list.

Take care,

Paul
