Can you please help. I just installed this editor and it works fantastic until I try and browser for an image. There is nothing there. See screen shot. I do have my site in a subdirectory for testing. Does that matter? Thanks in advance for your help.

Here you go:

1. Joomla version - Version 1.5.14
2. Server type: Apache
3. Editor version:JoomlaCK 3.2
4. Browsers: IE8 & Firefox 3.5.9
5. System: Apache 2.0.63, PHP 5.2.11, My SQL 5.0.89-community
6. No current error log

Any ideas? Like I said I have joomla installed in a sub-directory. Does that affect the base URL for images?

Thanks for your help. I am a little lost on htis.

Hi again AMGill,

I don’t think that the editor being installed on a sub-directory would be the cause, as 90% of our testing was took place in a sub-directory.

If you are a Firefox user, would you be so kind to install Firebug (which is a 3rd party extensions for Firefox - addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843 ).

Once installed would you open up Firebug > select the ‘Console’ Tab and copy and paste the ‘Ajax query’ when you received the error. This will help us see the Ajax response from the server and hopefully help us to diagnose the problem.

Thanks,

Paul

Meant to include the screen shot. Do I click persist?

By the way I can insert an image from below and then right click to adjust the image properties in the editor. Just one more step, but at least there is a workaround.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your reply.

If we look at dekoster firebug response we can see that that problem arises in Joomla’s database class.

The response replies with:-

/homez.65/myserver/www/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 193
In looking into the matter further I found an old post on Joomla ( forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=235&t=302907 ) in which they direct the fault away from the Joomla class to being a server side problem.

However, after playing around with the editor in Firefox 3.6.3 I received the same error. Once I receive the error it became cached in my browser which displayed similar to the screen shots above until I completely closed down my browser and cleaned out my cache files. Before doing this I run Ccleaner which didn’t do anything until I upgraded it the latest version.

Work around:
Close all your tabs, including the tab of your Joomla back-end Administration. Then click on: Tools > Clear Recent History and make sure you have ‘Cookies’ & ‘Cache’ selected. Also in the ‘Time range to clear’ select everything and then press ‘Clear Now".

We still need to look into this matter further to determine the best way forward. I will update you ASAP.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi all,

We have created a fix for this which will be released to the public shortly, in version 3.2.1

Until then:

Work around:
Close all your tabs, including the tab of your Joomla back-end Administration. Then click on: Tools > Clear Recent History and make sure you have ‘Cookies’ & ‘Cache’ selected. Also in the ‘Time range to clear’ select everything and then press ‘Clear Now".

Take care,

Paul
