New to Joomla, apologies if I'm just missing something that's apparent.

I have an article that is not linked from anywhere yet. I want to link to it from an image. Jlink does not seem to support searching for the file (it replaces the image w/text) Image edit does not allow browsing server to find that article. Seems the only way is to go back, find the link ID and link to it that way. Is this correct?
