Thank you for your time again.

Yes, I have completed steps 1 and 2. => Than the picture goes to original-size after saving.. (but I want a small picture, that gets big with image-sizer)

It's a bug of CKEditor (width=" in Frontende too much, or height=" is missing),
with FCK it works perfect.

Source code with CK-Editor:
1a) Standard-Sourcecode with JoomlaCK in Backend:

1b) Sourcecode of picture in Frontend (Image-Sizer does not work, because width is too much, or heigth is missing..):

Source code with FCK-Editor:
2a) Standard-Sourcecode with JoomlaFCK in Backend:

21b) Sourcecode of picture in Frontend (Image-Sizer works..):

This is not generic solution especially for those who have not installed the JCK manager.

I believe your issue is beacuse your database predix is not 'Jos' and that value is hardcoded in the first SQL that has been called. Can you confirm.

I believe you change the script as follows as oppose to removing the first check as been suggested :

line 171 :
[strike]
$sql = 'show tables like "jos_jckplugins"';[/strike]
$database->setQuery( $sql );
$result = $database->loadResult();

to

$sql = "show tables like '".$database->getPrefix()."jckplugins'";
$database->setQuery( $sql );
$result = $database->loadResult();

Hi dbg20,

Thank you for your post.

For the kama skin you would simply replace '.cke_skin_office2007' with '.cke_skin_kama', so it will be:
html .cke_skin_kama {
width:670px !important;
}
Again you should be able to simply copy and paste it to your template css file.

Take care,

Dear churchadmin,

Thank you for your post.

The editor works with the JoomlaCK component but is not be dependant on it! This means that the editor comes pre-configured; it has all the advantages of being a simple 3-click-install, but now you can extend its functionality further with our new component. So its not burdened with JCE component dependence!

I think presently that you have only install our editor, if you wish to extend the JCK framework you are required to install the 'JCK Editor Manager' separately - please see http://www.joomlackeditor.com/downloads/viewcategory/2 to download.

Please see: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content/article/195-jck-manager-installation-guide for a step by step guide on how to install it.

Take care,

Hi dzvonko,

Thank you for your post.

All editors (JoomlaFCK, JoomlaCK, JCE and Tinymce) are a fancy way of writing into a textbox! What happens to that html text when saved is completely managed by Joomla! In other words Joomla editors ONLY assist the user to write html – nothing more!

The old JoomlaFCK never had the ability to automatically publish articles, it may have seamed too because you interacted with the system via the editor. But in fact it was another application managing your front-end article submission.

What you need is a 3rd party component that will manage your front-end article submission, please see: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ews-production/content-submission for a list of possible application that may meet your needs.

Take care,

Joomla        : 1.5.20
JCKeditor     : 3.3.1
XAMP (Windows): 1.7.3
    Apache    : 2.2.14 (Win32)
    PHP       : 5.3.1
Browser       : Not Applicable
Errors : The file browser is disabled for security reasons. ...

I've just recently installed Joomla and JCKeditor and have been having trouble getting the file browser to work, it keeps telling me that it's disabled.

Digging around in the code led me to '\plugins\jfilebrowser\config.php' and the 'CheckAuthentication' function, if I modify this to simply return true, the browser works, otherwise it doesn't.

digging further brought me to '\includes\ckeditor\session\session.php' and 'getSessionInstance' and the lines:
//$client = JRequest::getInt('client',1); conflict when using Joomla JRequest
//Lets client directly from $_GET variable
$client = $_GET['client'];
$client =   (isset($client) && $client == 1 ? 'administrator' : 'site' );
Doing a print_r on $_GET shows that $_GET['client'] is 'undefined' meaning that 'client' is being set to 'site'. This being the case I tryed logging into the front end and low and behold the browser worked, both in the front end and the back end, logging out f the front end rendered the browser in-operable again. Is there something wrong with my configuration or is this a bug in JCKeditor?

Hi campi,

Sorry to hear that.

As I mentioned before “it is impossible to be sure” there are many factors involved – it could be your html code but it is impossible to know without actually seeing what you are trying to do. Either way - some browsers have determined that your code should not break while other seam for more forgiving.

Maybe if you added a fixed width to your class and used overflow:auto; it might be another way of getting around your issue.

However, it doesn’t sound like an issue with the editor and our support is really tailored to that.

Thanks

OK, afer about 45m of research and a simple test. It turns out that installing Joomla via Fantastico on my webserver (HostGator) is a different implementation than downloading the version file from http://www.joomla.org/download.html, setting up the database and doing it myself.

Very odd. But after I downloaded via Joomla site, did the install (incl sample data), and installed JCK Editor. VOILA!

It all works just fine. Thanks!

Does this plugin works better if Register Globals is OFF? That was different in my second attempt as well.

Hi,

I have a website with a dark background color and white text.

The editor read the template.css correctly except the body background, so it showed white text on white background which made it imposible for me to create articles correctly.

I tryed using a custom css, modify the templates/system/css/system.css to include the background color in the text are, etc., but nothing worked.

Then i started searching for white and ffffff inside the jckeditor folder and then i got lucky.

This is how it's done:

1. Open the file helper.php located in plugins/editors/jckeditor/includes/ckeditor/htmlwriter/javascript

2. Look for the line with the code: $bgcolor = $params->get( 'bgcolor','#ffffff');

3. Replace #ffffff with your background color.

Hi blue_Shift,

Thank you for post.

I am not exactly unsure what you problem is? The editor width parameters are set to 100%. If you define the width of the editor container (in your template) then the editor will expand to fit 100% of the container area on the frontend.

Kind regards,

Hi nesway,

Thank you for your post.

It could be that GoDaddy for some strange reason does not support the .tar.gz package and therefore Joomla is not permitted to install the editor for you.

The good news is that we also packaged the editor also in a .zip format. You could try downloading the zip version for our editor from repository and giving that a try.

I am pretty sure that the zip package will work if not, you can try uploading and installing the editor from Directory. Please see: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content/article/169-maximum-execution-time-exceeded for help.

Take care,

Hi Henk,

Is there a way to generate thumbnails for existing images?
We have a plugin which will create a thumbnail of an image, once clicked upon it will open up in a light-box with a larger version of the image. Please http://www.joomlackeditor.com/downloads/viewcategory/3 ‘The JCK Simple Gallery plugin’ for more info.

'The JCK Simple Gallery plugin' is a management solution for the popular Simply Image Gallery by JoomlaWorks! It works to automate the entire administration tasks from uploading images, selecting files and will even write the syntax tags for you.

Install:

1.	Download and install http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/photos-a-images/photo-gallery/1468 plugin by JoomlaWorks.
2.	Download and install http://www.joomlackeditor.com/downloads/view.download/3/10 JCK editor plugin.

Red lines are getting annoying.
Please to go to Components > JoomlaCK Editor Manager > Control Panel > 'Plugin Manager' and disable the scayt (spell check as you type) plugin.

Take care,

This is really a new query so it might be better to start a new thread on this matter. In this way those who use the forums as a point of reference are better equipped to find an answer.

However – the parameters for changing the image path are located in the editors Joomla plugin. Go to > Extensions > Plugin Manger > Editor - JoomlaCK and open. Under ‘Parameters’ you are able to define the image path.

Take care,

It sounds like that you still need to download and install the popular AllVideos plugin by JoomlaWorks, please see: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/multimedia/video-players-a-gallery/8

Hi Mightymouse3062,

It may be the case that the browser has not seen the new updated CKEDITOR configuration bascue it has catched the JS file. This is usually the case with browswers, so to immediately see any changes to JS files in them you have to clear the cached files.

If you do not know how to do this you can use a progtam called CCleaner to do this, which will clear all cache files cookies etc. And it is advisable to do this quite regularly cause you never know what you are storing.

Yes - the 'Title' is found under the image 'Advanced' tab, its called 'Advisory Title'. If you wish to display the a title with the image then you should be able to do this by adding 'caption' to the 'Stylesheet Classes' field. This will of course be influenced by your Joomla template.

Hi kiwi2b,

Thank you for your post.

All your quires other than the “Can the default audio selection be set to video?” are related to how the AllVideos plugin (by JoomlaWorks) works on the front-end, while our integration is the manager for the plugin that works on the back-end.

So - if your query is related to the front-end it would be best aimed towards the team at JoomlaWorks however, if it a query related to the back-end management – we are here to assist.

QUESTION: Can the default audio selection be set to video?

OK - if you are still having problems we will need to know more about your configuration:

1.) Server type
2.) Browsers type & Version
3.) Are you using Joomla! recommend configuration:http://www.joomlackeditor.com/downloads/installation-guide?start=1
4.) Error message - If you are a Firefox user, would you be so kind to install Firebug (which is a 3rd party extensions for Firefox - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843/ ). Once installed would you open up Firebug > select the ‘Console’ Tab and copy and paste the ‘query’ when you received the error.

This will help us see the response from the server and hopefully help us to diagnose your problem.

Hi Neusje,

I actually solved this issue a few days ago, forgot to post an update here on the forums.

Turns out our server had special security configurations (something our university IT had to do) which were not compatible with joomla's default .htaccess configuration. We had to rename the .htaccess file in the installation root directory to htaccess.txt. Similarly, an .htaccess file was located in .../plugins/editors/jckeditor. Renaming this file to htaccess.txt solved our issue, allowing the editor to load.

Good luck.

Hi madseman

Thank you for your post.

This is almost certainly a file permission issue.
Joomla is attempting to write to the configuration.php file however, it was not given permission to do so hence your error: "An Error has occurred! Unable to open configuration.php file to write!".

The recommended values for Joomla is , 755 and 0644 for folders and files respectively with PHPsuExec, php_suexec or suPHP installed. For more information on Joomla’s system requirement please see the official link below:

* http://docs.joomla.org/Security_and_Performance_FAQs#What_are_the_recommended_file_and_directory_permissions.3F
* http://docs.joomla.org/Security_Checklist_2_-_Hosting_and_Server_Setup#Avoid_sloppy_server_configurations

This is not to say that Joomla will not work if you are using a different file permission however, you may have to play around with your servers file permissions to get it t owork.

Please see: Please see: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content/article/191-how-to-change-file-permissions-in-joomla for help.

Hi larsen_casper,

1. The core anchor tag plugin in the JCK is not working as it 2.X version and is indeed a bug. We will add this to the know issue section and look at rosolving this. This has not been fixed in CK 3.4. So we will have to add a new plugin for this feature to be added.

2. The next version of the JCK Manager will allow you to publish and unpublish core plugins that the editor does not deem essential. For now you can manually configure a toolbar as follows: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/component/content/article/185-configuring-the-editor-toolbars.
