The project was official launched in September 2005 on extensions.joomla.org and has become one of the most popular and loved editor's for Joomla!, with several hundred votes and reviews to date. In january 2008 we were approached and worked with a member of the International Joomla team Tibor Tóth, with the aim of packaging the editor within the Joomla software. Since then the editor has been used on joomlacode.org and was previously employ in the international version of Joomla!
In february 2010 the project changed it name by emitted the ‘F’ from the JoomlaFCK, this coincided with the launch of the new 3.x series. The editor still maintains the same Joomla integration and includes many of the same plug-ins but now the 3.x series boasts in a superior API engine.
